Eric Yarnell, ND
Current Roles
Dr. Yarnell is a core faculty member in the Department of Botanical Medicine at Bastyr University, an ND clinical supervisor at Bastyr Center for Natural Health and researcher at the Bastyr Integrative Oncology Research Center. He is president of the Botanical Medicine Academy in Seattle, chief financial officer of Healing Mountain Publishing, Inc. and president of Heron Botanicals, Inc.
Clinical Interests
In treating patients, Dr. Yarnell employs a comprehensive naturopathic approach with heavy reliance on botanical medicine. His clinical interests include men's health, urology, nephrology, gastroenterology and botanical medicine.
Past Experience
Dr. Yarnell completed a two-year residency with Silena Heron, ND in Sedona, AZ after practicing for a year in Denver, CO. He has maintained a private practice in Seattle, Northwest Naturopathic Urology, for the past eight years in which he has trained three residents. He has volunteered at free clinics in Phoenix and Seattle. Dr. Yarnell has published and co-authored numerous books and articles. He is the former chair of the Department of Botanical Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. He is the former senior editor of the Journal of Naturopathic Medicine. He was chair of the institutional review board (human subjects safety and ethics protection) at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and also sat on this board at Bastyr University for many years.
Education & Affiliations
Dr. Yarnell earned his ND from Bastyr University in 1996 and his BS from Bastyr University in 1994. His interests include foreign languages, martial arts, travel, native plants, writing and changing the world.
