Jessica Bean, ND
Dr. Bean is a first-year naturopathic resident at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, treating patients in Team Care and Practitioner Care. Prior to her residency at Bastyr Center, Dr. Bean worked to increase access to alternative healthcare for underserved populations as the association manager and a volunteer LMP with Alternative Healthcare Access Campaign in Seattle. She also completed a year-long internship in naturopathic family medicine at the Emerald City Clinic under the supervision of Molly Linton, ND, LM, and completed a three-week intensive course in medical Spanish in Quito, Ecuador, with rotations at the public gynecological and pediatric hospitals. Dr. Bean’s clinical interests include naturopathic family medicine, especially pediatrics and women’s health, preventive medicine, hormone imbalances, digestive disorders, allergic conditions, autoimmune disease, emotional health and ADD/ADHD. She is particularly passionate about craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation and has undergone substantial supplementary training in these areas, including the application of these therapies to children and infants; other treatments include lifestyle modification, nutrition, herbal medicine, flower essences, and biotherapeutic drainage. Dr. Bean believes that healing comes from within each of us and that we are all capable of making healthy changes in our lives. She sees her role as providing the knowledge and support each patient needs to move forward on a path toward vibrant, joyful health. Dr. Bean earned her ND from Bastyr University and completed a Certificate in Massage Therapy from Bastyr University and Brenneke School of Massage. She also earned a BA in Chinese Language & Culture and a BA in Linguistics & Psychology from University of Connecticut, as well as an International Baccalaureate at Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong. She is a member of AANP and WANP.
